Hotel Philips Redesign

February 29, 2012 in Site Launch

The beautiful Hotel Phillips has undergone a complete website redesign as part of the renovations it recently completed to it’s actual structure in Kansas City, Missouri. Take a look at the new Hotel Phillips below. Our challenge was to keep the original structure of their website, but to lay the new branding they had developed in conjunction with the renovations over the top of it. The new branding is much lighter, but still sophisticated. It uses a lot of color, patterns and imagery. We highlighted an orange color from their palette and integrated one of their patterns into the background and navigation elements. Take a look at their new site!

Mason Street Grill Site … It’s Alive!

October 27, 2011 in Site Launch

We put the new MasonStreetGrill.com website live recently. I want to congratulate striker for his awesome design that really captured the Mason Street Grill brand. This site was also the first site we built without any Flash components. In the past our rotating headers and photo galleries were built completely in Flash and offered static replacement content for iPad users.

Mason Street Grill was also the first restaurant mobile site we completed and the first mobile site to incorporate dynamic components using our custom built Marcus Applications.

Check out the new site at MasonStreetGrill.com and stop in the restaurant to check out the killer carrot cake.

Coming Soon: Mason Street Grill website redesign!

September 23, 2011 in Mobile, Site Launch

We are currently working on a new and exciting Mason Street Grill website set to be launched before November 1st, 2011.

The site was designed in-house by our team member, striker.  It will showcase a custom CMS also built in-house by the Marcus Interactive/Web Team.  This allows the restaurant to manage their own upcoming music line-up featured in the lounge, their upcoming events and promotions and allows them to update their header image rotation to keep images and special event announcements current.

The new site will include the first mobile website we’ve done for a restaurant.  Something unique about this mobile site is that is also a “first” is that it will dynamically pull in a feed of the events/specials and lounge music line up from the same database that the full website uses.  This is a great feature for customers searching for local entertainment on the go.  It is also a convenient feature for the restaurant because they only need to enter the information once for the website and have it display to both sites at once.  Less work for multiple outputs is always better!

In the meantime, here is some Mason Street Grill info  until our cool new site is launched:

If you are interested in some happy hour options in Milwaukee, Mason Street Grill has that too!

A great tip:  Get together a small group of your friends (that you want to impress) for Happy Hour at Mason Street Grill on a Friday night – you will be seated in the lounge area.  The atmosphere is dimmed and relaxing, the music on Fridays nights is smooth and soulful – and the drinks and food menu items are super affordable and delicious!

Hang out there till about 7pm, then head over to CLEAR Bar & Lounge located within the InterContinental Milwaukee Hotel just blocks away and try out the amazing and affordable Chocolat Bar.

There are many options for the chocolate lover such as chruffles (tasty truffles by Milwaukee’s own Cholive), chocolate pops, chocolate fondue with multiple dipping options (the chocolate chip cookies and brownies are homemade and some of the most decadent chunks of chocolate I’ve ever tasted!).  There are so many options to choose from  in an impressive display.

For those of you who would rather accompany the chocolate with coffee instead of wine, there is a full barista at the bar counter offering cappuccinos, lattes and more.

Captain MIMM visiting Birdie's Cafe

This post was written from Birdie’s Cafe located in Milwaukee, WI.

This is a great location for taking a small group of friends or going with one friend for an intimate conversion.  It’s is in an old house with lots of little rooms so the noise volume is low and it’s fun to find a little nook to hang in and work on your laptop or talk with a friend over coffee.  Each room is decorated with artwork from local artists’ for sale.

This is also one of the few coffee shop locations with a full breakfast and lunch menu.  You can get pastries for breakfast or a full breakfast including a croissant egg sandwich and breakfast potatoes.  Or lunch options include a half sandwich, cup of soup and a half slice of pie.

If you are dining in-house, you get large over-sized mugs for your cappuccinos or lattes –  I don’t know why, but appearance is half the flavor, and they are so delicious.
